I am a problem solver passionate about using technology to better the world. I take pride in designing clean and maintainable code in all layers of stack and across multiple platforms.
I have several years of experience contributing to existing code bases and building scalable, distributed applications from scratch. I love transofrming ideas into functional applications - moving them iteratively through architecture design, development, testing, and deployment pipelines. I currently work at Port Payments Co., where I focus on the engineering of Port (in beta). Port's web client is built on Angular. It talks to our api gateway that acts as a facade to our flask based backend built on microservices architecture. Port microservices run inside docker containers on AWS managed by the Amazon EC2 Container Service.
I work on side projects when I have some free time. Most recently, my wife Tess and I worked on a fun game called Run the Roll and released it to the app store. It is fast-paced and challenging. It also won't cost you anything to try. Feel free to check it out!
I enjoy capturing portraits and landscapes. Lately, I mostly photograph when I travel. I use Canon EOS 5D MKII with Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L, Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8, Canon EF 40mm f/2.8, and Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lenses. Checkout my instagram, where I tend to post more often than here, to see what I am up to recently.
